Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress, best famous for her role in Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. In the late 80s, she began her acting career, and was popular with the role of Tezaab which she played with an established actor Anil Kapooor. The next film she appeared in was Dil where she shared screen space with Aamir. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she started learning dance at an early age. She ventured into acting as a youngster and struggled through a couple of years since most of her initial film projects were unsuccessful. Then she found her way to success and she became one of the most well-known actresses within the Indian film industry. Her marriage led to a hiatus in her professional career. She returned later. She played a major role in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit was awarded eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen nominations she received. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. She is known for her work in the field of social service as well.
